Needing A Recovery Weekend

As many of you know, last week was unusually full for me at work.

We hosted our denominational national gathering which required several back-to-back fourteen to fifteen-hour days.

The week went remarkably well considering hosting an event of this magnitude is not what we regularly do.

Thank you for your prayers as I participated in all of this.

In addition to the busy week, I have developed a head cold that is draining me even more.

Thus, the next installment of Why Did They Turn to Idolatry? | Part Three will wait another week.

In the meantime, I want to share how the Lord encouraged me throughout this past week.

Before I left for work last week Wednesday, I did my daily Bible reading.

The verse that popped out to me that morning was,

14 And [the LORD] said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”[1]

As I went through my very long day at work, I kept reminding myself of this verse and shared it with several coworkers too.

Then on Thursday morning, as I drove into work listening to my local Christian music station, the song Weary Traveler by Jordan ST. Cyr came on.

Then as I fired up the car to go home at the end of the day on Thursday, We the Kingdom’s song Holy Water was just starting.

Isn’t God simply amazing in how he orchestrates all the details of our lives?

I encourage you to spend some time listening to these two songs today as you continue to walk your own journey of faith.

May you be refreshed and encouraged by the LORD! He has promised to be with you and give you rest.

How has the LORD encouraged you in the past week?

Blessings,

Barbara Lynn
