Brief Time Away Needed

This is just a quick note to explain why I missed my usual posting last Sunday.

The week before, I needed to limit my screen time because of an intense headache and light sensitivity along with fatigue.

I spent one entire day in a dark room just resting.

People keep asking me if I get migraines.

I respond that I’ve never received an official diagnosis of migraines.

But I frequently get barometric pressure headaches. The worst headaches are when it threatens to rain but then it doesn’t.

Thus, I try to eat an anti-inflammatory diet most of the time. But I’m certainly not perfect at it.

This past Monday, I resumed working on a post hoping to get a study posted today.

But then that afternoon, an intense wave of grief shut me down again.

I understand that this shouldn’t surprise me given the rapid approach of the one-year anniversary of my husband’s death.

My plans already include spending some time with family over the next several days around this anniversary.

Therefore, I doubt I’ll post a study this coming Sunday either.

I have been able to stay active on my social media most days, sharing things I find encouraging or humorous from other people’s posts, since that usually only takes me about ten minutes a day. Check in with me there if you are on social media too.

In the meantime, I leave you with this verse from Matthew 11:28 and a prayer.

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Heavenly Father, help us seek you when we are weary and burdened, no matter what the cause of our troubles. Your desire is for us to come to you so that you can give us rest. When we do this, we are firmly in your will. We thank you for giving us rest when exhaustion and trouble weigh upon our bodies, minds, and hearts.

Warmly,

Barbara Lynn
